Infectious Diseases

Animal health is a key part in any operation. Vaccines are often used to help reduce the incidence of infectious diseases. Many times, farmers look to vaccines for prevention against infectious diseases. Some common diseases include BVD, IBR, neosporosis, leptospirosis, campylobacteriosis, salmonellosis, brucellosis, listeriosis, chlamydiosis and bluetongue. These diseases are easily transmittable from one animal to the next. In certain cases, these diseases can be asymptomatic. Always be sure to use proper sterilization when using A.I. and different reproductive technologies. Be sure to always maintain proper health records and look for any unusual behavior, which could be an indication of a sick animal.
